By Road
Direct dual carriageway from all directions. From Calais, it is motorway all the way, approx 8 hours, 550 miles.
From the North: The A6 autoroute, then the A40 Macon Nord, follow the Geneva signs then the "Autoroute Blanche" to exit 21 signposted St Gervais les Bains.
From Geneva Airport: Approx 50 miles, 50 minutes. If you hire a car at Geneva airport, on leaving airport, follow signs for Lausanne/France and once over border, you will see signs for Chamonix/ Mont Blanc
From Lyon: The A42, Lyon-Pont D'Ain, then then A40, Macon-Geneva.
From the South: The A7 autoroute to Valence, then the A49 to Grenoble and A41 towards Geneva/Turin. Then either exit at Albertville and go through Ugine-Gorges de l'Arly/ direction Chamonix-Megeve OR go through Annecy to Sallanches.
